SAFETY RULESPlease read
carefully
- Wear safety glasses when cutting or observing
cut in progress.
- Always lay chisel flat side down.
- Never chisel towards yourself.
- Always unplug power equipment when making
adjustments.
- Keep blocks of wood picked up and work area
clean of debris.
- Be aware of the danger of tripping.
- While moving timbers, be your partners
eyesdo not let them back into a trip
hazard.
- Do not overload yourselfask for help.
- Do not drop timberslay or set them down
carefullyyour partners will appreciate it.
- Practice safe liftinglift with your
legs.
- Always be ready for "kickback"
while using power saws in green timbers.
- Never force power equipment while cutting or
drilling.
- No pets allowed in the shop.
- Report all injuries, no matter how minor, to
one of the instructors.
- The use of drugs and alcohol at the shop or
on the job site is strictly prohibited.
Waiver of Liability. As an unpaid apprentice
and/or student, I release Goshen Timber Frames,
Inc., from all liability for any injury or
accident that may occur during the workshop,
apprenticeship period, or any subsequent
attendance for continuing education at Goshen
raisings or offsite workshops. This waiver extends
to any activity I may undertake including, but
not limited to: sawing, cutting, erecting and/or
raising and enclosing a timber frame, and any
ancillary activities connected thereto. I have
read the safety rules printed above and will abide
by them.
